The Proto Rize Maxxed is a tournament spec entry level paintball marker gun from DYE. It is essentially an upgraded Rize paintball marker that not only retains all of the features of the basic Rize but also includes several added novel and intuitive functions. Except for the barrel which is now much longer, the Rize Maxxed looks significantly similar to the base variant. However, unlike the basic Rize, the Maxxed variant comes with an airport on/off switch and a lever lock clamping feed neck. All in all, this marker gun is designed to offer tournament level performance without breaking the bank.

Product Specs

Equipped with a patented UL nylon and fiberglass composite 45 frame, the Proto Rize Maxxed is highly durable and robust. The frame of the Rize Maxxed features a low-profile yet streamlined design that makes it easier to hold the marker as it feels more natural in the hand. The gun also comes with wraparound dual density DYE sticky grips that not only help shield the electronics and the battery pack but also provide an exceptional ergonomic grip. Sporting the Hyper 3 inline regulator, this marker gun offers a swift, accurate, and responsive adjustment of air pressure and velocity.

The Proto Rize Maxxed is one of the most highly accurate paintball markers out in the market. This is due to the fact that the gun utilizes a much longer 14-inch 2-piece barrel. Also, the Fusion Bolt Spool Valve Technology in the gun allows you to shoot at a much lower operating pressure of around 140psi. The low pressure contributes to smoother shots, softer recoil, and muzzle kicks, thereby enabling you to lock onto a target much easier.
The Proto Rize Maxxed features a redesigned RAMP solenoid that helps deliver more power than its predecessor. Additionally, this paintball marker comes with a Hyper3 in-line regulator that can be tweaked and customized to increase the pressure to more than the factory default of 140psi. This allows you to enjoy a much higher paintball velocity and range. Also, these high-performance components combine to make the Rize Maxxed a reliable and performance oriented marker gun for shooting at both long and short distances.
One look at the marker gun and it is evident that DYE has put a lot of thought into the design elements and quality of the Proto Rize Maxxed. The level of craftsmanship can be seen in aspects like the intuitive and virtually tool-less lockdown clamping feedneck and the 3D contoured body design that offers maximum performance without contributing to the marker's overall weight. The gun also comes in plenty of two-tone color schemes that help enhance its aesthetic appeal even further.
DYE offers a one-year warranty on the Proto Rize Maxxed.

Crafted by Tippman, the Cronus is an entry-level semi-automatic paintball marker gun that features a dual tone black and tan color scheme. The gun comes with a pistol grip and a vertical grip to enable you to stay in control all the time. Made from a high-impact composite material, the Cronus is highly durable and can safely withstand outdoor use, drops, and bumps.

The Tippmann Cronus features only a 9-inch barrel, which is much smaller than that of the Proto Rize Maxxed. This puts the Cronus at a disadvantage as its accuracy suffers due to the smaller barrel length. Fortunately, the stock barrel can be swapped for something much better and longer to help improve the accuracy. In addition to that, the gun also comes with standard front and rear fixed sights for aiming, with the option to add third party accessories via four Picatinny rails. The rails also allow you to add night vision scopes and long scopes to help further increase your accuracy.
The stock barrel has a very low effective range of up to just 75 feet. But with barrel upgrades from Tippmann, you can extend the maximum effective range to up to 150 feet, putting the Cronus on par with the Proto Rize Maxxed. With the necessary barrel upgrades and tactical scopes, the Cronus can also consistently and precisely hit targets even if they are positioned at the far end of the field.
The Tippmann Cronus features a MilSim body that resembles the design of a tactical assault firearm used by the U.S. Armed Forces. Even though the Cronus is relatively lightweight, coming in at just 3.7 pounds, the quality of its components is not found lacking. The fit and finish of the rugged gun is almost on par with much more expensive models. Also, unlike many other marker guns, the Cronus doesn't require regular maintenance because of the high quality of materials used in the design.
Tippman offers a limited warranty on the marker that extends up to 2 years from the date of the original retail sale. This warranty includes any repairs or replacements that may be necessary due to defects in the material or workmanship. Tippman also offers a 90-day warranty on the accessories. These warranties are not transferable, and they do not cover damage and defects that arise due to improper maintenance, unauthorized repair, neglect, negligence, accidents, abuse, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

PROS

A0.68 caliber offering from Tippmann, the A-5 marker is an affordable paintball gun that's ideal for both beginners and intermediate players alike. Equipped with a two position external safety switch, the Tippmann A-5 lets you go from safe mode to firing mode in a second. Similar to the Tippmann Cronos, the A-5 also comes with a removable and ergonomic vertical grip that offers additional control over the marker.

The Tippmann A-5 is equipped with a stock 8.5-inch barrel that is shorter than the one from Cronos. While the stock barrel is accurate enough for short and medium distances, it falls slightly short of expectations if you're trying to shoot targets that are positioned further away. Fortunately, this drawback can be easily remedied by swapping the stock barrel for a 14-inch variant from Tippmann.
According to Tippmann, the stock 8.5-inch barrel of the A-5 marker gun holds good for a maximum range of around 150 feet. Ranges higher than the stock 150 feet can be achieved by using the optional 14-inch barrel.
Featuring an all-black color scheme, the Tippmann A-5 features a high-quality all-aluminum body that is durable and resistant to rust, corrosion, and damage. This allows the gun to be used both indoors and outdoors, irrespective of the environmental conditions. Also, the marker gun and its components both sport an intuitive tool-less design that makes assembly and disassembly a cinch.
The Tippman A-5 is covered by the manufacturer's limited warranty, which extends up to 2 years from the date of the retail purchase by the original buyer. This warranty is valid on any repairs or replacements that may be necessary because of defects in the material or workmanship. In addition to this warranty on the marker, the manufacturer also offers a 90-day warranty on the accompanying accessories, if any.
Both these warranties cannot be transferred, and they do not cover any damage or defects that stem from improper maintenance, unauthorized repair, neglect, negligence, accidents, abuse, misuse, or normal wear and tear.

PROS

  • Adjustable firing rate
  • Easy to assemble and disassemble
  • Shock-absorbent end cap
  • Accurate firing system

Asemi-automatic offering from Kingman, the Spyder MR100 Pro features a patented and highly efficient Eko Valve System that enables you to extract up to 1,600 shots from a single CO2 tank. The polymer clamping feed neck of the MR100 comes with a high impact design that locks onto the feeder and minimizes movement and wobbling. Additionally, the marker gun is also equipped with a two-finger trigger that helps lessen fatigue.

The Spyder MR100 Pro comes equipped with a 12-inch micro ported barrel straight from the factory. The stock barrel not only makes the shot smoother by minimizing the recoil but also helps the gun shoot targets more accurately irrespective of the distance they're at. Also, the low recoil helps you set up subsequent shots more quickly without having to aim all over again.
The 12-inch barrel combined with the high operating pressure of the Spyder MR100 Pro allows the players to shoot targets over 250 to 300 feet precisely. This makes the gun more suitable for players who like to snipe targets across the field.
Unlike most paintball marker guns, the body of the Spyder MR100 Pro is made from a combination of rigid steel and aluminum. This not only makes the gun feel more premium than its plastic and polymer counterparts but also enhances its durability and helps it withstand even extreme conditions.
Spyder offers a limited 12-month warranty on this marker. The warranty is only enforceable by the original purchaser, and it covers any defects in materials or workmanship under circumstances involving normal use.

PROS

  • Impressive firing rate
  • Ideal for beginners
  • Comfortable grip
  • Fires paintballs without breakage

CONS

  • Comparatively shoots a bit slower
  • Brittle bolt
